Understandable. I’ve ran sound for shows like that & it’s totally an “if you’re familiar, you’re fine” situation. Whenever I’m working with anyone on a any project, I like being there regardless if the process calls for me, which can be intrusive though.
Yeah, it’s definitely nice to just know what’s going on. Even if it’s just for your confidence.

In college and the pro world, tech joins at tech week. That’s why there is a tech week. Aside from like the set builders and stage manager, everyone joins in at once. We had our tech from 6pm -12:15 AM in one go. Also good progress on the firms!

yes I was in seussical in 8th grade and I memorized the entire musical and the songs still randomly get stuck in my head.

Exactly! Which is why I’m thinking that it was just me who was brought on late… Even though I said I’d be interested in doing it from the get-go… But yeah, I don’t know how they organized tech. It was just nice to have everyone on board through the whole process. But I really think it was just me who was brought on for tech week. Which is somewhat meh. Also slightly pressure-inducing as I’ve never worked a sound board before. But it is handy that I’d at least seen the show before so I knew the gist of what was going on. But whatever, it’s working and it’s nice to be around theater people though I wish there were more tech people. Maybe next year.
